International Employees / Dr. Kamal Hyder
Dr. Kamal Hyder is a unique Food and Agribusiness Development and Marketing professional with over 30 years of experience in both the private and public sectors, as well as in academia. He has worked with a number of food and agribusiness companies, government and international development agencies in over 18 countries worldwide. Dr. Hyder is particularly skillful in developing new products or solving problems within a developing economy. Recently, he worked on the USAID-sponsored Micronutrient Program in his native country of Bangladesh to improve nutrition through the fortification of wheat flour with essential vitamins and minerals. As Food Industry Advisor, he assessed the feasibility of food fortification on a national level, designed and implemented a wheat flour fortification program to feed vulnerable groups, and directed studies and established cost factors to develop public/private partnerships. While also with USAID, he advised numerous enterprises worldwide-from small sustainable farms; retail outlets in rural areas; frozen fruits and vegetable processing; packaging of spices and oilseeds for export; and large juice, fruit, and vegetable processing plants-on various food-related issues. Dr. Hyder is fluent in English, Bengali, and Urdu.
